We remain responsible forever of what we have tame. dont forget it!!
dont buy bird, ADOPT!
Kiwi has mastered how to put all the rings on the peg.
Kiwi est passe maitre dans l’art d’empiler ses anneaux sur la pole.
*** Basicly there is several steps the bird should master to get to there.
1- Make her touch/take the ring
2- drop the ring in my hand (I put my hand under)
3- put the ring in my hand
4- fetch the ring to put it in my hand
5- fetch any object to put in my hand
6- bring the ring while aiming or touching the peg that I hold in my hand (I try to aim the peg in the ring)
7- bird try to put the ring on the pole (understand where it goes)
8- bird succeed to put the ring on the peg
9- bird put all the rings on the peg
Do small sceance of training (~10 min) once a day (each step took me around 2-3 days to learn)
Bird have excellent memory, you dont need to practice everyday, he will remembber each step learned very well.
Do positive training, help the bird to have as many “successes” as possible. ,Reward each little increment along the way. It’s much better to guide him to the right response than to have to correct the bird for a wrong one. If the bird does not do something right, try it again another way so that the bird can be rewarded for the correct moves. Never be negative (say NO) if the bird get stressed or distracted. Training teaches a bird discipline, and as you spend more time observing your bird and its reactions, you will understand it better, and the bird will at the same time also learn better how to respond to you and what pleases you.
